about

After having spent so little time on our first album "No Time For Naysayers" we decided to put a little more time into the song writing on this one. Having spent a couple of months writing new songs, playing gigs in and around the Yorkshire area, and generally messing about, in April 2012 we decided to spend a day recording BARE ...And having spent a little longer on the writing side of things we thought we should maybe put a little more effort into the recording process as well. So we took a few guitar mics, a few drum mics, a room and vocal mic, as well as our good friend Lee Bowden, down into the Bar Lane Art Studio's Basement (old home to Wrong Side Of The River) . We mic'd up our amps and drums and recorded this... The reason this one took so long to release was because we were busy doing other things, playing gigs, living life, and Lee was also still ridiculously busy playing with Fawn Spots and also living his life, so we rarely had chance to find time to mix.

So six months after recording in April 2012, we managed to get our shit together, start mixing, mastering (carve the track listings into my old amp with a stanley knife) take some photos, print, press and release it! Hope you like it. Was a lot of fun to make.

There are also another 10-15 tracks we managed to demo around the time of BARE that just didn't make the cut. Tracks that just didn't quite seem to fit with the pace/vibe of the tracks that we were actually properly psyched about putting on an album. Songs we didn't play live as often, or didn't quite feel were 'proper songs'. Bits of music we wrote, and liked, but didn't feel were 'album material'. Hopefully we might get to come back to some of them and find a use/place for them. Same goes with NTFN. There are still 3 tracks from that album we never put out... Maybe later.
